Orders: 800-374-5764 Fax: 650-592-0237 Web: www.RobotStore.com Our History Robotics pioneer Roger G. Gilbertson was inspired by robot mechanisms at a young age. Early in his career, he came across the samples of a Japanese-made shape memory alloy that could expand or contract in response to electrical stimulation. Immediately, Roger began building mechanisms, and eventually working with the manufacturer. In 1986, Roger and his friend Christopher Paine founded Mondo-tronics, Inc. to facilitate shape memory alloy development and to distribute product, information and enthusiasm for this rapidly developing technology, dubbed Muscle Wires. In 1995, Gilbertson began offering Muscle Wires products and a wide selection of robot kits and robot-related books, toys, movies and more. The collection, dubbed “Modo-tronics’ Robot Store” reaches hobbyists and experimenters worldwide, who can shop for hard-to-find robots by mail, and via the web at www.RobotStore.com. With leading proprietary products such as Muscle Wire® and OctoBot™ Survivor robot, RobotStore.com quickly built the world’s largest online selection of miniature robot kits, books, parts, circuits, videos and other items devoted to hobby robotics. |
